Now here's an odd one and an extremely rare odd one at that!  'Revelry At Cambusnethan Priory' by Revelry.

It looks like a souvenir from a medieval banquetting evening, but far from it.  It's actually excellent full group electric folk performing contemporary and traditional material. They even cover 'Lady Eleanor'.

The sleeve is an excellent busy drawing and to add to the intrigue the number in the matrix is DER 1393 which suggests that it was pressed by the legendary Deroy Company.

Fairport Convention's album Liege & Lief is the original UK issue from 1969 on the pink Island label.  This album is often ranked as the best folk-rock album ever and a big influence on everything that came after.  The album has a gatefold sleeve with the inner gatefold showing lots of bizarre photographs - a photo of the grave of Thomas Thetcher with the lyrics of 'Down Among the Dead Men' underneath, Morris Dancers  with a description of Morris Dancing, a photo of the Padstow Hobby Horse plus description, and others.

Very few albums were issued on the uber collectible Midas label (an offshoot of Folk Heritage) and all of them are sought after.

The Young Folk were indeed young when the 'Ribble Valley Dream' album was issued in 1972 but don't let their age put you off; their version of the traditional 'Travelling People' is excellent.

Folk Nottingham Style - The Nottingham Festival is an incredibly rare private pressing issued as a souvenir of the Nottingham Festival.

All the Mabsant LP's are scarce and collectible and this 1987 issue, 'Trwy'r Weiar', is no exception.

The group are a three piece band Siwsann George, Stuart Brown and Robin Bowen.  They tackle a mix of traditional and self composed material.

This copy is autographed.
