A German pressing of Robin Gibb's scarce solo, Robin's Reign, recorded and issued while he was estranged from the Bee Gees. It was recorded in 1969 and issued in 1970. Not considered a commercial success, the album did produce Robin's solo hit 'Saved by the Bell' and Elton John later covered both 'Saved by the Bell' and 'August October'. Throughout their lives the brothers Gibb were incredibly creative and this frequently resulted in competition and dispute between Robin and Barry - the track 'Most of my Life' from this album is supposed to capture some of Robin's feelings on this, and much later Maurice's song 'Man in the Middle' is a reflection of him feeling caught between this Barry/Robin relationship. Maurice assisted Robin on this album playing on 'Saved by the Bell' and also 'Mother and Jack' and was caught in the middle as it was rumoured Barry was not pleased to discover this. Fortunatley, the brothers came back together and went on to create some incredible music as the Bee Gees and also writing for other artists.
